Preparations of RV Trips

A vacation with a RV is way more fun than the usual vacations with a car and staying at a motel. With a RV you can move with your personal motel. But just like other vacations, RV trips require some preparation also. And without that, your vacation can be ruined easily and you would have nothing to do when you are far away in some remote village. So go through the following steps before riding out with your motorhome.

1. Cleaning: Do you want to sneeze all the way to your trip with a dirty RV? If not then make sure to clean both the interior and exterior of our motorhome. Clean the exterior with running water cleaning soaps. Make the wherever you are washing has high catwalks so that you can clean those hard to get place like rooftops, windows etc. And for the interior you have to use vacuum cleaner to get rid of the dust. It will be best if your RV storage has a wash bay vacuum station on site.

2. Fresh Water Storage: This is what will get your watery needs. Make sure to clean it and fill up before a trip. And if your motorhome have to sit at some RV storage after your trip, then make sure to empty it. Otherwise your tank will end up with fungus.

3. Black Water Storage: It means the dump water box of your RV. You should clean it afterwards a trip. But before a trip, make sure the connections to it are sealed and the lids are closed.

4. Fuel: Sometimes we take up our RV to faraway places. So always head out with a full tank. Sometimes plan on stopping by at fuel stations after getting the RV out of the storage. The nearest fuel station can be out of service or too far away. But nowadays many RV storage offer on-site fuel pumps.

5. Air pressure: Always make sure your tires are properly inflated before a trip. Otherwise, it can be hours after you realize your tires are halfway flat. So always check the pressure with a gauge indicator. Also check the pressure of your spare wheels also.

6. Others: Some accessories are not essential but can add toppings on your trip. Like ice! Once I went to a RV storage at Orange County where there was free ice box. But if yours doesn’t have that then you have to get them from home.

Robert Louis Stevenson said that, “I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move.” And a motorhome with all the necessary preparation can be the best way for such a travel. So always go through the above steps, and never look back again.
